I did promise a rant every week, hope you got sight of my first book review of the year. After reading the minister’s book I started thinking this blog can also turn into a published book.

For every blog, I have read this week I was passing it through GPTZero.me an AI tool that identifies if an article was written by a human or AI.

This week I will start with sports, so I am a football enthusiast and studied the game at some point. I don’t follow it as I used to but the Manchester City financial charges really made rounds I could not look away. So in Europe football clubs are not allowed to spend more than what they earn in order to create a level ground for fair competition. There are more than 100 charges brought against Manchester City for covering up their expenditure but it does not make sense because the club has always been audited especially since it was taken over by Arab money and the side was suspected to have a habit of breaking the bank. This season in Italy a club lost points for covering up its earnings. They say Manchester City could be kicked out of the footballing world but that would be extreme.

Still on sports Ukraine is trying to make sure Russia doesn’t take part in the Olympics 2024 in France but the International Olympics Committee is standing its ground on the basis that they take no political sides.

Very many people who were called conspiracy theorists for questioning the increase in fuel prices are laughing at the rest of the world. Oil companies turned out to have made a windfall of profits in 2022, being their best in the history of humanity. Oil powers the economy which means an increase in it’s price will affect every commodity under the sun. They claimed the war in Europe disrupted supply chains which was not reasonable because some shipping routes were not affected at all. Besides the war still rages and the prices are falling. After closing the world economy for nearly 2 years what is left of the seven sisters decided to revenge for the time they didn’t sell their oil at all. There is also this report that claims the Nord Stream gas pipeline bombings were a covert operation ordered by the White House and carried out by the CIA

China for the better part has not been affected by inflation that everyone elsewhere on the planet has. Their style of governance is partly to credit, alternatively, the inflation in other parts was likely a figment of fiction put together to make the rich richer.

Still on China, they went on and played the USA with its Balloon that flew over the country for all most a week. Beijing claims it was studying the weather but Washington said it was a spy balloon and they decided to shoot it down. The USA says China infringed on its sovereignty through the air space. The USA felt bad because it tested what it does to the rest of the world occasionally.

As the Ukrainian president was on his tour of Europe his head of military Valery tried to push around a lie to force other countries to join the war by claiming a Russian missile entered Romania which was denied. On another day it would have led more countries to join the war and take sides. Before we know it the world is back to the stone age.

The earthquake in Syria and Turkey happened at a Magnitude of 7.+ and the shock waves were equally that size. Russia sent aid to Syria meanwhile the rest of the world just decided not to because they hate the president and they have tried to overthrow him for 12 years but failed.

Syria has been bombed for 12 years and at some point, a group called White helmets emerged and even was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The White Helmets would run towards a bombed building to save people, they were experts at pulling people out of damaged apartment blocks and their moment to practice is here. The most notable country to send rescue teams is Palestine and there teams are also always engaged pulling people out of bombed buildings that Israel bombs all the time in Gaza.

Anyway, for Africa we have to seriously stop thanking people and governments for doing their jobs, they are paid to serve and it’s their duty. We can not create deities out of civil services.

President Hage Geingob of Namibia castigated teachers for letting children to learn under trees. He challenged teachers to build makeshift structures to protect against harsh weather instead of waiting on the government to build classrooms. A few years back in 2019 the government of Namibia suggested girls get contraceptive injections as an alternative to providing period hygiene products.

Let me get out of here till next week.
